With great sorrow we have learned of the death of our fellow-Trustee, Nicholas Turnbull LVO, QGM, MBE, Private Secretary of our Royal Patron, HRH The Duke of Kent. He died of a stroke on 16th November 2026. He was a great champion of The Dresden Trust in promoting reconciliation and friendship between the peoples of Britain and Dresden, destroyed by bombing in 1945. We long benefited from his helpful and imaginative support, and last year he joined our Board of Trustees. Together we organised visits to Dresden by The Duke of Kent – most recently in 2025. In this, as with all he did, Nicholas was a model of care, discretion and efficiency. We mourn a kind and talented friend.
