25 Years of the Dresden Scholarship Scheme!

๐ŸŒŸ We are celebrating 25 years of the Dresden Scholarship Scheme! ๐ŸŒŸ

There are schemes for both German and UK pupils.

The German scheme, founded by David Woodhead in 2000/01, the programme has enabled hundreds of pupils to take up subsidised places at British schools.

In 2017, the Scholarships for UK pupils were revived by Trustee Paul Stocker, who now oversees both schemes. Since then, over 50 British pupils have had the opportunity to spend time in Dresden, staying with German families, attending local schools, and experiencing everyday life in one of Germanyโ€™s most beautiful cities. Typical responses: "Life-changing!"; "The best thing I've ever done!" And, of course, these links strengthen personal, educational and cultural ties between the UK and Germany.

To mark this anniversary, we have also redesigned the Scholarship Scheme section of our website, better showcasing the programme, reports from our Scholars, and highlighting the opportunities it continues to offer pupils in both countries!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the programme over the last twenty-five years and we look forward to continuing this unique exchange for many years to come!
